In 2023, the Mercedes-Benz GLE in Philadelphia outsold all other Mercedes-Benz vehicles – except for vans. Will it continue to hold this position for 2024? It depends upon whether the GLE lives up to the potential owner’s always high expectations.
A Facelift for 2024
For 2024, the Mercedes-Benz GLE has undergone a facelift. It is not a major makeover but one that touches up certain components. The exterior receives an updated grille and a new design for the front bumper as well as updated rear styling including restyled wheels and new lighting components.
What stands out for the latest incarnation of the GLE are two major changes:
-
The introduction of a plug-in hybrid version – the GLE 450e.
-
The updating of the Mercedes’ MBUX infotainment interface to the second generation. It also now includes, as standard, both wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The GLE now has more powertrain options – all of which deliver power effectively and efficiently. The base engine is a 255-hp turbocharged four-cylinder. Options include a 362-hp turbocharged inline-six powertrain.
Really, What Is There Not to Like?
If you are looking for a well-appointed luxury vehicle with plenty of features, the Mercedes-Benz GLE is the SUV you are looking for. With spacious seating for five passengers in highly refined settings using genuine leather, wood, and metal. This is a premium vehicle able to address all the needs of a family. This includes not only those who must travel along the urban streets of Philadelphia daily but also escape to go off-road for weekend adventures.
